Turistica Italian Journal of Tourism is the first Italian magazine of Economics, Marketing and Tourism Management.

Quarterly scientific publication, in addition to being the main reference in tourism is the longest-lived of the industry publications, since in 2018 it reached the XXVII year of activity: it was founded in 1991/92 by Emilio Becheri, then C.O. of Mercury S.r.l. and currently The Sole Administrator of New Mercury Tourism Consulting S.r.l.s.

During the years Turistica has consolidated as the largest journal of documentation, analysis, research and development in the fields of tourism, cultural heritage, leisure, the well-being of thermalism, resources and territorial planning and policies Community.

Over the years the magazine has developed concepts and categories that have changed the way of thinking about tourism and cultural heritage by presenting changes in the market, the transition from tourism to tourism, monothematic differentiation; immediate criticism, from the moment of their activation, of STLs (Local Tourist Systems); the transversality of the market and the great relevance of the sector considered to be residual; non-tourism sector. And again, he launched the concept of non-tourism sector and the theory of the two markets, pioneering the great and greater importance of tourism in relation to other sectors, analyzed the tourist syndromes, the South as a missed opportunity of the Beautiful country, the relevance of food and wine; the relevance and then the prevalence of the environmental issue, the estimates of the tourist movement in holiday homes (applying the innovative Model Gio.Ne). It has dealt with topics such as niche turismes, spa tourism with its generations, the evaluation of tourism impact, disintermediation and the new brokerage of the market, the Italian contradictions, where tourism is all that is not tourism and other Still.

Turistica, therefore, has often proved to be a precursor of different concepts and numerous innovations that have revolutionized the study of tourism and that are now part of the literature of the sector, influencing school and university texts. Major exponents of tourism research, such as Mara Manente (Director of Ciset), Nicolò Costa (La Sapienza University), Maria Dolors Vidal-Casellas (University of Girona), Alfonso Morvillo (Director Irat-Crn), participate in the editorial of the magazine. Magda Antonioli (Bocconi University), as well as Emilio Becheri, one of the leading experts in Italian tourism and founder and coordinator of the National Tourism Report.
